History

In 1969, Golden Asp sold jeans, hippie clothes and prom dresses from a tiny storefront outside of Philadelphia. As the building expanded, so did the inventory and young women flocked to the store for bikinis and trendy sportswear. In this unusual mix, bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses soon followed.

After many years of selling this unique collection of clothing, Golden Asp decided to focus strictly on formal wear.

In 2008, Golden Asp decided to sell only prom dresses and gowns for formal dances. We are still the only store in the United States that is 100% prom.
